How much supply sits with the largest holders, and how deep is the liquidity they would sell into. Both figures are public and on-chain. A small number of addresses holding a large share against thin liquidity is the setup for the losses that define this category.

Why Solana hosts so much of this

Negligible fees and fast confirmation make high-frequency speculation economically viable in a way it is not on chains where each transaction costs meaningfully. The concentration of memecoin activity there follows from cost structure rather than from culture.
