A Solana decentralised exchange built around concentrated-liquidity Whirlpools, holding $245m with a focus on approachable liquidity provision.

Our assessment

Orca brought concentrated liquidity to Solana through its Whirlpools design and holds $245m across two chains. It has consistently been the most approachable venue on that network for liquidity providers, which is a design achievement rather than a marketing one.

Concentrated liquidity on a fast chain

Managing a concentrated position means adjusting ranges as prices move — impractical where each adjustment costs a meaningful transaction fee. On Solana it costs a fraction of a cent, which makes active range management viable for ordinary providers rather than only for professional market makers. The strategy is the same as Uniswap v3; the economics of running it are not.

Interface quality is a safety feature

Orca is known for making pool selection and position management legible. That sounds cosmetic until you consider that the most common way retail providers lose money is by not understanding the position they opened. A design that shows range, fees and divergence clearly prevents more losses than most technical features.

No linked audit report

No audit report was retrievable at a public address at this check. For a protocol holding a quarter of a billion dollars this is the main gap in its evidence, and it is common across Solana DeFi in this comparison — five of the six Solana venues here have the same missing indicator.

Who it suits

Orca fits Solana users who want concentrated liquidity with a comprehensible interface. Traders needing the deepest Solana routing should also check Raydium; those wanting published audit evidence should look to Uniswap, Curve or QuickSwap.

Frequently asked

Does this score mean Orca DEX is safe to use?

No. It measures what an outsider can verify: linked audits, published documentation and independently recorded market data. Contract behaviour is not tested by us.

Where does the TVL figure come from?

An independent public analytics platform, queried at the verification date. Anyone can re-run the same query.

Why do some protocols score zero on audits?

Because no audit report is linked in the public dataset. It records what a user can reach, not a claim that no audit was ever performed.
