How this score was built

Each indicator scores 2, 1 or 0. A pillar is the points earned over the points available; the overall score is the weighted sum. Every source below is public — check any of them yourself.

The analytics and discovery tools of the longest-running NFT marketplace, with documentation and terms published at reachable public addresses.

Our assessment

OpenSea's tools sit alongside the longest-running NFT marketplace, and it is one of only four services in this comparison with documentation and terms both published and reachable without an account.

Being the default produces the best data

Analytics quality depends on the breadth of what you can see. A platform that has hosted a large share of NFT trading since 2018 has a longer and more complete history than any tool built later, and history is what makes rarity, price and holder analysis meaningful.

Marketplace tools have a marketplace's incentives

Analytics attached to a trading venue are built to support trading on that venue. Collection rankings, trending views and recommendations shape where attention goes, and the operator benefits from attention converting into trades. That is not concealed, and it is worth remembering when a tool tells you what is hot.

What we could and could not establish

Documentation and terms are published and reachable; the corporate entity was not established from public sources at this check. Our operator pillar carries 15% here, and being able to identify who is legally responsible for a service is the indicator most of this category fails.

Who it suits

OpenSea's tools fit collectors who want broad historical data and are already trading there. Traders wanting order-book depth and professional execution should use Blur or Tensor.

Frequently asked

Does this score assess OpenSea's data quality?

No. Data accuracy would require a controlled comparison we do not run. The score covers what is published and reachable before use.

Why is this category smaller than the others?

We check candidates before listing them. Four services we tested for this table no longer respond at all, so the table has fourteen entries rather than fifteen.

Why do all entrants score zero on corporate entity?

Because this class of tool rarely publishes it. The indicator is identical for everyone in the category, so the comparison stays fair.
