A dual-mode Mastercard that switches between spending crypto and borrowing against it at 0% to 13.9% APR, available across the EEA and UK.
Our assessment
The Nexo Card is the only card here that toggles between two funding modes in one tap: debit mode spends your balance, credit mode borrows against your crypto as collateral at 0% to 13.9% APR depending on loyalty tier. It carries no annual fee and is available across the EEA and the UK.
Why the credit mode matters
Spending crypto directly is a disposal, and in most jurisdictions that means a taxable event on every coffee. Borrowing against the same assets is not. For a holder with an appreciated position, credit mode can be worth far more than any cashback percentage — and it also means you are running leverage against a volatile collateral pool, with a liquidation price.
The rewards are narrower than they look
Cashback is up to 2% in NEXO or up to 0.5% in Bitcoin, tiered by loyalty level and generally requiring a portfolio above $5,000. Critically, it is paid only on credit-mode purchases, not on debit-mode spending. Since January 2026 Platinum members can borrow against BTC and ETH at 0% APR.
What we could not verify
Nine indicators failed: no fee documentation at a public address, no rates displayed, and no support resource retrievable. For a product that extends credit at a variable rate against volatile collateral, the absence of a published rate table is the most consequential gap in this table.
Who it suits
The Nexo Card fits European holders with a substantial portfolio on Nexo who want to spend without selling and understand collateralised borrowing. Anyone who simply wants cashback on everyday spending will do better elsewhere and without liquidation risk.

Frequently asked
Does this score rate Nexo Card's rewards?
No. Rewards and cashback change frequently and are not scored. The score reflects what a prospective cardholder can read before applying: programme page, fee documentation and terms.
Why is cost weighted so heavily for cards?
A card is a payment rail. Its conversion spread and fees are the product, so the rubric puts 35% of the weight on whether those are published and readable.
Is regional availability part of the score?
No. Our methodology excludes country availability from scoring entirely. Check the provider's own terms for where the card is offered.
