About apyUSD
apyUSD is an ERC-4626 vault token — a standardised interface for tokenised yield vaults. The value of each share rises as the underlying strategy earns, which means it is not designed to hold a one-dollar price and should not be read as if it were.
ERC-4626 standardised a common pattern
Before the standard, every yield vault implemented deposits, withdrawals and share accounting differently, so integrating each one required custom work. A shared interface means wallets, aggregators and other protocols can support any compliant vault immediately — a genuine improvement in composability.
Share price rises rather than supply rebasing
A vault share represents a claim on the underlying pool. As the pool earns, each share is worth more. A holder's balance does not change; its value does. Any data source treating this as a stablecoin will report a growing deviation from a dollar that is simply the yield.
The standard says nothing about the strategy
Compliance with ERC-4626 describes the interface, not the risk. A vault lending to established protocols and one running leveraged strategies on unaudited contracts can both be compliant. The strategy is the risk, and the standard does not constrain it at all.
What to check before depositing
Which strategy the vault runs, which protocols it deposits into, whether those are audited, what fees are taken and how withdrawal works during stress. The standardised interface makes depositing easy and evaluating the strategy no easier.
Who it suits
This fits users who have read the underlying strategy and want standardised vault mechanics. Users who cannot identify where the yield comes from should not deposit, regardless of how well-formed the interface is.

Frequently asked
What is ERC-4626?
A standardised interface for tokenised yield vaults, so wallets and protocols can integrate any compliant vault without custom work.
Why does the token's value rise above a dollar?
Each share represents a claim on the pool, so as the pool earns, each share is worth more. The balance stays the same while its value grows.
Does the standard make a vault safe?
No. It defines the interface only. The strategy determines the risk, and vaults running very different strategies can both be compliant.
